Elder Gary E. Stevenson – NEW APOSTLE

Elder Gary E. Stevenson was called in October 2015 to serve as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve.  Before his call as an apostle, he was serving as the Presiding Bishop.  I love the talk that he gave about Temples.  You can watch it below called "Sacred Homes, Sacred Temples."  I have always loved the temple.  To me it is the "happiest place one earth."  There I can feel closer to the Savior and find peace and inspiration to continue through "the midst of darkness" spoken of by Elder Stevenson.  He said, "You are never lost when you can see the temple. The temple will provide direction for you and your family in a world filled with chaos. It is an eternal guidepost which will help you from getting lost in the 'mist of darkness.'”

The leaders have always encouraged us to have a temple in all the bedrooms in our home.  I took both of these pictures of the temple and added the quote from Elder Stevenson.  I took the Salt Lake Temple picture while visiting my parents in Utah before they entered the MTC on their way to serve a full time mission in Africa.  The next picture is of the Gilbert Temple.  It was taken just prior to the dedication of the temple.  You can print it and modge podge it to a piece of wood, frame the picture or just attach it to the wall.  I hope these two images help your family "feel closer to the Savior" as you keep your heart and eyes on the Temple.

I created 12 lessons about the temple that you can use for Family Home Evening or preparation for a temple dedication in your area.  Here's a video that I put together during the Open House of the Gilbert Temple.
