Switch-a-Witch

When we were on the GAPS diet 100% and detoxing our bodies, it was just a few months before Halloween.  I was speaking to my friend about what she does during Halloween since candy is a total no-no and really it isn't good for any of us.  She mentioned something they called the "Switch-a-Witch."  I loved the idea so much that we have done this for the past 3 years now and my kids love it.

Our children still get to go trick-or-treating and join in the fun at family and church parties but instead of keeping all that candy in the house we do the "Switch-a-Witch."  The kids leave their candy basket full of their treats at the door.  After the kids are in bed, I take the candy and leave some little gifts inside for the children to enjoy instead.  I usually just grab a couple things for each child at the Dollar Store.  It has been a great way to still enjoy trick-or-treating without eating all the junk.

As I was looking to see if anyone else was doing something like the "switch-a-witch" I didn't find anything online which is pretty amazing.  I did find a scooby-doo show though called "To Switch A Witch" so I thought it would be fun to post it here as well.  Leave a comment below and let us know what you do with all the Halloween candy or if you were successful using the Switch-a-Witch in your home.
