MLK Day

On the third Monday of January (Jan. 18 this year), the U.S. celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. who was a champion of civil rights.  Many workers have the day off to commemorate his legacy and contribution to our society.  

Þ    MLK, Jr. had 4 children: Yolanda, Martin Luther III, Dexter and Bernice.

Þ    He was Time magazine’s Man of the Year in 1964.

Þ    King was in the 1st grade at the age of 5.

Þ    In 1963, King wrote “Letter from Birmingham Jail” & delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech.
