Some days you just don't want to go to work. A survey on absenteeism from CareerBuilder.com tells us that 33% of employees skipped work last year, telling their bosses they were sick when they really weren't. 34% of those just didn't feel like going in that day; 9% were avoiding meetings, overdue projects, or a box or colleague. Among the excuses some employees gave for not showing up:
-One employee claimed to have hit a turkey while riding a bike.
-Another worker said his dog was stressed out after a family reunion.
-An employee reported swallowing too much mouthwash.
-One employee allegedly suffered a heart attack earlier in the day, although he said he was "all better now."
-A worker said his wife burned all his clothes, leaving him with nothing to wear to work.
