Elder Dallin H. Oaks is known for being not only a Supreme Court Judge, but for his determination to follow Jesus Christ. His life is full of Christ-like service to the church and to this great country that we live in. You can read more about his life here and the official biography here.
Here’s a game that I was inspired to put together for today, it is called “You-Be-the-Judge.” First, print out the images onto card-stock. You can print them double sided with the answer on the back or just glue them together. To help make them last longer, laminate the cards once they are cut out. There are 16 cards all together. Here’s how you play the game. Set out all the cards with the gavel facing up. Each player takes a turn picking a card and turning it over. Read the sentence and “judge” if it is a “true” statement about Elder Oaks or a “false” statement. If you got the answer right, you get to take the card. If you didn’t answer the question correctly, flip the card over and it is the next person’s turn. Play until all cards are gone. Whoever has the most cards at the end of the game wins! I hope this is a fun game for your kids to learn about Elder Oaks.
We are down to just one more week until we are blessed to listen to the prophet and apostles. Have fun with these lessons as you draw your family towards Christ’s servants on earth.
