We love General Conference at our house. I just told my daughter who is 6 that tomorrow was General Conference and the face she gave me was so funny. She was sooo excited with the biggest and silliest grin on her cute face. She then said, “I love Conference!” Oh, she just made my day.
As I was getting my Conference goodies out, I realized that I never blogged about a few of the ideas I tried last Conference. Here is one of them. It is called “I ‘bear’ testimony.” I picked up these small containers at the DollarTree. I think there were about 8 or 10 for $1. I just made this little bear tag to glue on top of the lid and then I put teddy grahams inside. I have also used the little bear math manipulative as well if you don’t want to use the teddy grahams. Each child gets there own container and as they hear the speaker share their testimony or the things they know are true, they get to eat one.
Another idea that I am going to try this time is if the child recognizes that what the speaker is talking about is being is true, they can pick a bear out and eat it too. For example, if the person was talking about temples and your kids know that their family can be together forever because of temples, they can eat one of the bears. I also explained about this activity in the new How-to video posted here. I hope you have a fantastic Conference weekend!
