I didn't realize that yesterday, Sunday the 8th, was National Grandparents Day until my amazing and talented cousin posted a picture on facebook. We were in California celebrating the safe return of my parents from their mission to Africa. You can read more about their exciting adventures online. It is so great to have them back. You have to understand that we moved from the west coast where my family all are from to the east coast over 8 years ago. Since that time we have added 3 children to the family. In all the time on the east coast, our children only were able to see their grandparents a few times. What a blessing skype has been, but it still isn't the same as time with grandparents in person. Every year my kids would bring home a flyer about the school's grandparents day and it would always make me sad to think that they had no one to bring to school while they watched other kids take their grandparents to school with them. The only grandmother I remember died when I was 10 and the only grandfather that I knew lived in Hawaii so we didn't get to see him as often as we would of liked too. It was always such fun when we did and I can remember many great and happy times going with grandpa in the motorhome as we discovered new places. Grandparents are a special blessing to children and adults alike. Thanks Reenie for gathering and taking this picture yesterday!
In honor of my beautiful grandparents, two I remember and two I look forward to getting to know when I see them again someday! This picture was taken (I think by my dad since I don't see him in the picture) on the day my father gave me a blessing when I was just a newborn both sets of my grandparents were there. Wish I could remember that day! Happy Belated Grandparents Day! Until we meet again…
