Awesome video about this great country from Ezra Taft Benson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also was appointed the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture by President Eisenhower.
I love what he says at the end "the constitution of this land was established by man who God in heaven raised up to that purpose…" What a blessing to be a citizen of the United States of America.
Thank you, Melia, for posting this. I always had a patriotic heart full of love for America but after living in Africa for two years that love has deepened. I love Africa, too, but my heart will always be American. Last night we went to an awesome concert here in Johannesburg by an amazing American pianist, Dr. David Glen Hatch, and some of his star pupils. When Dr. Hatch and three of his students did a rousing finale with an eight-hand version of Stars and Stripes Forever, I totally lost it. Tears flowed and my heart pounded. The Americans in the audience gave thunderous applause. I pray that Americans will stand up for traditional values and not allow feelings of entitlement or compromising thoughts cause freedom to be destroyed. America is beleaguered with plenty of problems but it’s still a promised and blessed land. I remember when I was young and heard Ezra Taft Benson say that it’s not the enemy without (foreign) we need fear, but the enemy within (our own country). Back in the 1960’s these prophetic words rang true. They carry even more weight today: “Efforts are being made to deprive man of his free agency – to steal from the individual his liberty…. There has been an alarming increase in the abandoning of the ideals that constitute the foundation of the Constitution of the United States.” God bless America!
