Tonight "The Piano Guys" did a live Face to Face event with the youth throughout the world on top of the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. As I listened to these four men share their personal and professional experiences, I was touched by their testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the end of the event, the one thought that stuck out to me was that I wanted my boys to grow up just like these men, strong in their testimonies of Jesus Christ with a willingness to share that testimony with the world.
During the event, someone asked a question about how the Piano Guys balance their life. Jon Schmidt, who plays the piano, spoke about how we can balance our lives by living the gospel. He quoted Ezra Taft Benson when he said, "…men and women who turn their lives over to God will find out that he can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace." (Jesus Christ – Gifts and Expectations)
That quote really touched me as I heard John quote the prophet. If we can put our lives in God's hands, he will bless us. Our potential is divine and no one knows or loves us more then our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. What a great reminder, not only to the youth, but to each one of us. It also reminds me of my favorite scripture found in Proverbs 3:5-6 which states, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path." As we daily "trust in the Lord," he will guide and direct our lives.
Gather the family around and be inspired by these great men, their testimonies and musical talent. (start at 59:00)
