A few years back I decided to change up my portrait studio focus.
I met a talented photographer that inspired me to stretch my skills and I began to develop and create children’s themed sets. (You can view some samples of these themed sets here.) I fell in love with this type of photography. I love that it is super unique and one-of-a-kind. Last week, I set up “A Dickens Christmas” so that I could photograph my kids. The last time I took pictures of my children in this set was about 5 years ago. Since that time we have added 2 more kids! It was fun to dress up my children especially my daughter with her puffy dress and beautiful hat created by a dear friend that has since passed away. The best part of this particular photo session had to be my little one who will be turning 1 soon. In almost all of the images my baby smiled, giggled and laughed. What a doll! So fun to photograph these children that I am blessed to call my own. Here’s a sneak peek from that session. More to come soon. Now on to your freebie…
Tonight, I sketched a little boy inspired by the Christmas pictures I took of my kids. He now is the cover to a project I have wanted to do for my own family. I have always wanted to put together a binder with Christmas stories, poems and carols and then each night during December we could read a story. Today’s freebie is a cover I designed to be printed and slipped into the front of a 3-ring binder. I have also included “The Night Before Christmas” poem and “The Gift of the Magi” story. I’d love to hear what some of your favorite stories, music and poems are. If they are not copyrighted, post a comment and I’ll make some more pages and post them here. Hopefully, this will start your own search for some great stories and music to share with your family as you gather together to celebrate this Christmas season.
** Freebie is no longer available. **
Thank you so much. I LOVE the idea of a book of Christmas carols and stories. I love the Polar Express, and it has been one of my daughter’s favorites ever since she was a little girl. She’s 33 now. Santa left her a silver bell, and she absolutely loved it. Even though it’s not strictly a Christmas story (poem), One Solitary Life is one that we always review at this time of the year. We also have a birthday cake for Jesus with a small nativity on top of it and read the story of Christ’s birth from the scriptures. The Little Drummer Boy is also something I would include. Thank you again for all the wonderful freebies.
Thank you for this great idea 🙂
